Obituary for Robert M. "Hooley Bob" Smith
A service to honor the life of Robert M. “Hooley Bob” Smith, 64, of Mentor, will be at 2 PM on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 2 PM on Sunday, prior to the service at the funeral home. The celebration of Bob’s life will continue Sunday afternoon at the Hooley House, 7861 Reynolds Road in Mentor, from 3-6 PM.
Bob passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Hospice House in Cleveland.
Born December 2, 1952 in Cleveland, he lived in Mentor for more than 50 years.
Bob was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed showing off his collection. He had an affinity for lighthouses and enjoyed golfing, photography, and travelling. Bob also spent many hours volunteering with the Eaton retirees REV'D UP group.
Bob was employed as an I.T. Analyst with Eaton Corporation, retiring in 2012 after 43 years of service.
Survivors are his mother, Catherine (Kostura) Smith; sister, Margaret Casey; nephew, Christopher Casey, Jr. and niece, Catherine Casey. He also leaves his loving companion, Judy Deaner, her daughters, Diana and Susan, and granddaughters, Katie and Jaclyn.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marshall R. Smith in 2000.
