MITCHELL W. BABCOCK

Mitch BabcockA lifelong Lake County resident, Mitch became interested in funeral service during his high school years. After working at several funeral homes on a part-time basis and working in other fields, as well, he made the decision to pursue funeral service as a career in 1982. After attending Lakeland Community College, he transferred his credits to the Edgecliff College of Xavier University in Cincinnati, where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Mortuary Science and graduated in May 1986. During the same time, due to a joint agreement between the privately owned and operated Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, he earned his Associate of Applied Science in Mortuary Science and Diploma from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in March 1986.

Mitch is a member of Mentor United Methodist Church, where he and his family are involved in many activities. An Eagle Scout, he also enjoys working with the Boy Scouting program at the Church and serves as Charter Organization Representative for the Church as the liaison between the Church and the Scouts.

Mitch is married to Laurie, a teacher at Munson Elementary School in the Chardon Local School System. They have a son, Ted and a daughter, Corinne, both very active in school and extra curricular activities.


SANDRA R. GRIMALDI

 Sandra Grimaldi is the office manager at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home. She has been a member of the funeral home staff since 1994 and was formerly employed at The News Herald. She attended Ursuline College where she studied art and interior design and when time allows, takes classes at the Valley Arts Center in Chagrin Falls. She is a life long Geauga County resident and attends St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Sandra’s great joy in her life is daughter Susan and son-in-law Dan and her Boxer, Heidi. She enjoys gourmet cooking, gardening and reading. Sandra finds her position at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home very rewarding along with great satisfaction in helping families in their time of need.



TIMOTHY L. THORMAN

Timothy L. Thorman Tim joined the staff at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home in July, 2008. He was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. He has lived in California, Utah and Arizona before moving to Ohio. Tim graduated from the University of Redlands in southern California with a degree in Church music and organ. He then attended Cypress College in Orange County, California in 1984, earning his degree in mortuary science. His experience has led him to funeral homes of all different sizes, from serving 40 families a year to 400 families a month.

Tim is married to Sherryl Anderson. They have five children and three grandchildren. The Thorman family are active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have become very involved in the Kirtland Ward since moving to Lake County. Tim is also active in the Masonic fraternity, and has been a member of the Kiwanis and Lions Clubs. He is a licensed insurance agent, notary public for Ohio and a Certified Funeral Celebrant for those families who do not have a minister or a church home.
