Nancy H. Rathbun

Graveside services and interment for Nancy H. (Hunter) Rathbun, 75, of Fletcher, NC, will be 10 AM Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Willoughby Cemetery, on Sharpe Avenue in Willoughby, Ohio.

Mrs. Rathbun passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville, NC .

Born January 29, 1936 in Chester Township, she was a longtime Willoughby resident.    She then married and moved to South Florida for 17 years, where she raised her three children.  She later moved back to Ohio where she met her  current husband of 31 years, Gerald Rathbun and they moved to Fletcher, North Carolina   

She was a graduate of the former Andrews School for Girls, class of 1954. She enjoyed playing the piano, canasta and golfing, but most especially spending time with her grandchildren.  She was also an active community volunteer.

Mrs. Rathbun was first and foremost a homemaker, but had also worked as a teacher and paralegal for several years.

She is survived by her husband of  31 years, Gerald Rathbun, and children, Jimmy (Margarita) Reichard of West Palm Beach, FL,  Jeffrey (Gabriella) Reichard of Nashville, TN and Bethanne (Scott) Reichard Bean of Stewart, FL; grandchildren, Melanie Reichard, Jimmy Reichard III and Abby Bean and brother, Jim (Beth) Hunter of  Otto, NC.  She also leaves 1 niece and 3 nephews and their families.

Her parents, Robert C. and Marjorie G. (Fuhrman) Hunter and  brother,

Robert L. Hunter are deceased.

There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions in Nancy 's memory to Meals-on-Wheels, c/o Council on Aging for Henderson County, 105 King Creek Blvd. , Hendersonville , NC 28792.  Please designate on your check memo line that your gift is in memory of Nancy Rathbun, so that the gift may be acknowledged to the family.
