Hubert S. Konczal

Hubert Sylvester Konczal, age 87, died peacefully on March 11, 2024, at his home in

Willoughby Ohio.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Schmitz) of 42 years; children, Lynn (Jeffrey) Nutting, Derick (Jennifer) Mann and Bryan (Dawn) Mann. His greatest pride are his seven grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sisters, Adrienne (James) Whittico and Sylvia (Dennis) Prichard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Marie (Trzeciak ) Konczal; his sister, Delphine (Don) Cox and his daughter, Kristine Rowen.

Born in 1936 in Detroit, he graduated from Fordson High in Dearborn, MI in 1954.

He served in the U.S. Army and soon after began his career with General Motors as a General

Supervisor in Tecumseh before transferring to the Euclid plant.

He also attended Eastern Michigan University. Bert retired from General Motors after 33 years of service and enjoyed golf, hunting and spending time with his family.

A Mass celebrating his life will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, March 22, 2024, at St. Elizabeth

Catholic Church, 506 N. Union St., Tecumseh, MI 49286. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. on Friday, prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will follow immediately afterwards at Brookside Cemetery. Those so inclined will have an opportunity to share a brief memory of Bert.
