Alexis Hunger

Mass of Christian Burial for Alexis (Jannette) Hunger, 74, 0f Wickliffe, will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Saint Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 32114 Vine Street, Willowick. Rev. Fr. Steven H. Breck will officiate at the Mass.

Please meet directly at the Church for the Mass.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

Mrs. Hunger passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024 following a long series of medical challenges. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Alexis was born April 28, 1950 in Cleveland, and has lived her entire life in Lake County.

She was a member of Saint Mary Magdalene Catholic Church.

For just days shy of 50 years, she worked at the former May Company, Kaufman’s and finally the Macy’s Department Stores at Great Lakes Mall in Mentor. She developed lasting relationships with her loyal customers, and would alert them to sales and would also help them find just what they wanted. In fact, her customers were so loyal, that if Alexis was not working, they would return at another time when she was there to help them.

Alexis was a devoted mother to her sons, Mark (Margie) and Andy as well as being the loving grandmother of Charles, Matt, Anna and Tori and great-grandmother of Brooklyn Hunger and Austin Fleming-Kendall. She also leaves her beloved brother, Jim (Jeanne) Jannette and her former daughter-in-law, Donna Lawrence.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Hunger, Sr. in 2015. Her parents, Alex and Vicky (Zappia) Jannette are also deceased.

Final resting place will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Township, following the Mass on Wednesday.
