Alice Ostrander

Memorial services for Alice E. (Barrett) Ostrander, 79, of Mentor, will be at 10 AM Tues., Oct. 23, 2012 at Willoughby Hills Evangelical Friends Church, 2846 SOM Center Rd., WilloughbyHills. Mrs. Ostrander passed away Thurs., Oct. 18, 2012. Born Sept. 3, 1933 in Altoona, PA, she has lived in Lake County for the past 50 years. She loved cooking, gardening and most especially spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Ostrander was retired from Mentor Public Schools where she had been the head custodian at Fairfax Elementary School. She is survived by her children, Becky (Jim) Killen, Diane (Jim) Nelson, David (Sherry) Carlson, James (Marie) Barrett and Barb King; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and sister, Lois Lulington. She also leaves her sons-in-law, Rod Fichtner and Chris Barta; her husband, Edward's children and their families; her friends, Dave (Jan) Clark and Tom (Esther) Fowler. Her husband, Edward Ostrander, daughters, Debbie Fichtner and Linda Barta and her parents, Raymond and Nellie Estep are all deceased. Private burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to Hospice of the Western Reserve, Inc., 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110-2602.
