Alison Christine Fyhr

Memorial services for Alison C. Fyhr, 72, of Willoughby, will be at 3 PM on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM on Saturday, prior to the memorial service, at the funeral home.

A graveside service and burial will be at 1 PM on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Whitehaven Memorial Park, 615 SOM Center Road, Mayfield Village.

Alison passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 after a long illness.

Born May 14, 1946 in East Cleveland, she lived her early years in Willoughby and spent her later years in group homes in Mentor and Painesville.

Alison loved simple things: dogs, fishing, making pottery, family holidays, summer vacations, camps and animated Disney Princess movies on DVD.

She also loved Christmas and was excited to have had a visit from Santa, which was arranged by her hospice team. Alison loved any kind of candy, especially chocolate, and looked forward to surprise boxes of candy from her nieces; she would always say it was Valentine’s Day when she ate it.

Alison loved animals, and dogs were her favorite; she often talked about the dogs she had while growing up. Often, a staff member would bring her dog, Bailey, to visit and she loved that as well.

Her friends and the staff of Differently Abled were very happy to have met and worked with Alison for the past two years.

Alison is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert T. Fyhr; step-mother, Maude K. Norris-Fyhr and her mother, Edna (Gronert) Fyhr. Her aunt, Svea Fyhr and step-sisters, Jeanne Norris Warburton, Natalee Norris Cook and Janet Norris Holloway are also deceased.
