Memorial services for Allen Lee Schmittel, 53, of Mentor, will be at 8 PM on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
Al passed away August 13, 2014 at Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby.
Born February 21, 1961, he was a lifelong Lake County resident.
He loved his pets, motorcycles, racing, hunting and was a flag man for many years.
Al was employed at John Carroll University for the past 33 years.
Survivors are his children, Katie, Joseph and Michael; mother, Laura Schmittel and sister, Jackie (Vernon) Pacholke, and his former-wife, Paula Schmittel.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Schmittel.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
