Anne grew up in Trenton, NJ.
Anne is survived by her sister, Pat Morrison Hedstrom, brother, Howard Dean Morrison (Connie) of Crystal River, FL: son, Scott Ralvan Wilson (Christine) of Hyattsville, MD, daughters, Lynne Wilson Koles (Robert), and Jan Wilson Phillips: grandchildren, Mario Pica (Jennifer), Heather Pica Torres (Alvaro), Katharine Wilson of Atlanta, GA, Jasmine Phillips of Kent, OH, Sean Phillips of Lorain, OH, and Caroline Wilson of Hyattsville, MD; great-grandchildren, Alvaro J Torres (Mary), Felix Ruiz, Jr, Gerardo Torres, Jazze’ Golden, Kadence Golden, Kilara Torres, Luciano Torres, Kalina Torres, and Sebastian Peterson.
Anne was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dale Earle Wilson, father, Howard Dean Morrison, mothers Theresa Eades Morrison and Eleanor Vanderburgh Morrison, and sister-in-law, Jane Wilson Drake.
Anne was an accomplished Musician from an early age. She sang and played piano, in New York City at the age of 16, until she left Trenton for Oberlin College Conservatory. Anne studied Vocal Music, Botany, and Elementary Education, sang with the Oberlin Chorus, recorded three 78’s and was a featured singer with Stu Phillips Band at the Oberlin Rathskeller.
In 1950, in Oberlin, Anne married Dale Wilson. They were both graduates of the Class of 1950. Anne was also Mrs. Cleveland Television 1951, after the urging of her mother-in-law. Anne ran the Wilson State Farm Insurance Agency with Dale, first in their home in Willoughby, then in a small office across from the Great Lakes Mall in Mentor, for 43 years. As the first female member of the Willoughby City Planning Commission, Anne took great interest in the future of Downtown Willoughby throughout the 1960’s and 1970’s.
Anne and Dale spent much time with her family at their cabins and farms in Upstate New York where she also brought plants from the Holden Arboretum to propagate. Anne was an avid gardener, growing a 12-row backyard plot for over 40 years. She and Dale loved to dance and were members of two Formal Dance Clubs. With State Farm, Anne and Dale travelled throughout Europe and North America. After State Farm they enjoyed Florida, Arizona and the Caribbean. Anne later joined the Mentor Teachers Association tours including Hawaii, the Holy Land, and European Rivers.
Anne passed into eternity peacefully at her residence in Aberdeen Crossings in Highland Heights at the age of 92. Celebration of her life will be at Willoughby Hills Friends Church on Thursday January 20, 2022, with 11:00 AM visiting, 12:00PM Service officiated by William Brew of Dorr, MI, and Interment at Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Hospice of the Western Reserve.
