Arthur C. Gutman

Services for Arthur C. Gutman, 69, of Painesville, will be at 7 PM on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Gutman passed away Monday, April 8, 2013.

Born March 29, 1944 in Cleveland, he was a longtime Lake County resident.

He was a skilled craftsman, possessing an ability to build all kinds of things; he built replica cannons, diving helmets, and a small train in his back yard which runs on compressed air. He was a member of the Buckeye Rangers Western Fast Draw Club and served in the United States Navy submarine service.

Mr. Gutman was employed by the United States Postal Service in Painesville, as a letter carrier and most recently in building maintenance. He retired in 1996.

Survivors are his wife of 25 years, Lynette (Grinstead); children, Sean (Julie) Barnes and Michelle (Bud) Csepi, both of Mentor-on-the-Lake; Charles (Debbie) Gutman and Lisa Gutman, and their families of Fontana, CA; granddaughters, Angela and Ashley Edmiston and Nicole Csepi, and sister, Nancy Smith and her family of Ashtabula.

His grandson, Michael Miller passed away on June 26, 2007. His parents, Ford and Nancy (Fuller) Gutman are also deceased.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to the National Stroke Association, 9707 East Easter Lane, Centennial, CO 80112.
