Memorial services for Barbara Downer Ferris, 90, of Willoughby, will be at 2 PM on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Willoughby United Methodist Church, 15 Public Square, Willoughby.

Born July 12, 1925 in Cleveland, she was a resident of Willoughby for more than 60 years.

She was an avid reader, historian, and amateur genealogist. She also loved opera.

Mrs. Ferris was employed as a librarian with the Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library for 21 years after receiving a Master’s degree in Library Science.

Survivors are her husband of 68 years, Paul D. Ferris, D.D.S., daughters, Elizabeth (Robert) Alesbury of Washington, DC, Elaine (Peter) Keefe of Mentor, and Emily (Mark) Allegretta of Charlotte, VT, and grandchildren William, Jeffrey, Andrew, Adam, Holly and Audrey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Helen Downer.

Final resting place is in Knollwood Cemetery, Mayfield Heights.
