Barbara Ann Maccartney

Services for Barbara Ann “Bunny” (Larick) Mac Cartney, 78, a lifetime Northeast Ohio resident, will be at 9:30 AM on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. Mr. Michael Creutz, P.C., Spiritual Coordinator of Cypress Hospice will officiate at the service.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the funeral home.

Bunny passed away peacefully on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Normandy Manor of Rocky River, surrounded by loving family and friends, after a long struggle with dementia.

Born April 27, 1940 in Cleveland, she was a longtime Mentor and Chardon area resident.

Bunny was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, the Thompson, Mentor, and Lakewood United Methodist Churches, where she sang in the choirs. She loved spending time with her family and friends at her family’s camps; Ohio Camp in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and in the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania.

Mom raised three sons on her own, and many other “adopted” children along her journey. She had a loving kindness for all people and was loved by many.

Bunny was a graduate of Eastlake North High School and Kent State University.

Mrs. Mac Cartney was employed as a receptionist and medical assistant at nursing homes and a doctor’s office.

Survivors are her sons, Thomas E. (Tarisa K. Swango) Mac Cartney, Christopher D. Mac Cartney and Michael J. (Patricia E. O’Donnell) Mac Cartney; grandchildren, Matthew A. Lombardo, Michael J. Mac Cartney, II, Megan K. Mac Cartney, William C. Mac Cartney, Austin C. Mac Cartney. She also leaves her many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Ruth (Guiler) Larick and brother, Donald Larick, Jr.

Final resting place will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Mayfield Heights, with her parents and grandparents.
