Barbara M. Randall

Barbara Main Randall passed away July 28, 2026 peacefully at the age of 100 at Fairmount Health Center in Willoughby, Ohio.

Born to Walter and Esther Main on December 21, 1925 in Hagerstown, Indiana, she lived throughout the Midwest and South as she grew up.

She met her husband, James Robert Randall (deceased), during World War II when they both were living and working with the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

They married on June 2,1946 and moved to St. Albans, West Virginia where they raised three daughters, Elizabeth Randall Hartman (deceased), Catherine Randall Kelso (Stephen Kelso), and Ann Main Randall (John Luttermoser). Mrs. Randall was the grandmother of Randall Kelso, Julie Kelso, Scott Luttermoser, Timothy Luttermoser, Richard Randall Hartman (deceased) and three great grandchildren.

She was active in the community, advocating for strong local government and schools and serving as one of the first women elders in the Highlawn Presbyterian Church.

After graduating from West Virginia State University in 1966, she taught junior high English and West Virginia history before becoming publisher and editor of the St. Albans Advertiser. She created a warm and gracious home, entertaining many friends, relatives, and guests from other countries, including hosting Amalia Garcia Tharn, an exchange student from Uruguay.

In 1996 she moved with her husband to Breckenridge Village in Willoughby, where they enjoyed volunteering in the community and traveling.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the Lyons Chapel in the Nason Center of Breckenridge Village, 36859 Ridge Road, Willoughby, OH 44094.
