Benjamin C. Ulrich

Services for Benjamin C. “Ben” Ulrich, 90, of Willoughby, will be at 4:30 PM on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Rev. Diane E. Walker, Chaplain of Ohio Living Breckenridge Village will officiate at the service.

The family will receive friends from 3:30 – 4:30 PM on Friday, prior to the service, and following the service.

Mr. Ulrich passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Ohio Living Breckenridge Village Fairmount Health Center in Willoughby.

Born October 3, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA, he was a longtime Lake County resident.

He was a World War II United States Navy veteran and a member of Willoughby United Methodist Church; a member of Willoughby Masonic Lodge 302, Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland and Al Koran Shrine. Among his many passions were golf, piano and volunteering with Lake Metroparks Farmpark, where he became known as “Cowboy Ben.”

Mr. Ulrich was retired as the proud owner of a steel bar sales company, DMS, Inc. in Willoughby.

Survivors are his wife of 30 years, Eunice (nee: Eddy) (Wright) Ulrich; son, Michael Ulrich and his family; daughter, Andrea (Al) Pasquale and granddaughters, Cheryl (Jeremy Lorton) Pasquale and Laurey (Matt) Silva; great-grandchildren, Alivia, Garrett, Ivy and Piper, and brother, David (Dolores) Ulrich. He also leaves Eunice’s family as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Ulrich on April 26, 1987. His parents, Benjamin C. Sr. and Margaret A. (Diamond) Ulrich and sister, Phyllis Houston are also deceased.

Private family interment will be in Willoughby Cemetery.

In Ben’s memory, the family welcomes contributions to Lake Metroparks Farmpark, in support of equine programs, where he enjoyed volunteering.
