Betty Ruth Bregar

Betty R. Workman Bregar, 96, formerly of Kirtland, Ohio, passed away peacefully Friday, October 22, 2021, at Ashtabula County Medical Center, Ashtabula, Ohio.

Betty was born November 26, 1924 in Leith, a daughter of the late Helen and Oliver Workman.

She was a 1942 graduate of Dunbar Township High School and Mason Frederick Beautician School in Uniontown. She owned and operated her own beauty shop in Uniontown, PA and Kirtland, Ohio.

Betty's joys in life were going dancing with her late husband Bill, listening to music with their sons as a family and going to the football games to see their son, Bill play with the high school and college band, and also their yearly vacations as a family during Terry and Bill's growing-up years.

She will be missed by her sisters, Shirley, Lois, Doris (Duckie) and Joyce that loved her so deeply as she had helped her young widowed mother take care of her little sisters and took them under her wing after their father, Oliver died at 47 years old.

Betty is survived by her grandchildren, Sam and Molly Bregar of Akron, Ohio; her son, Terry of Kirtland, Ohio; her sisters, Shirley Markus and husband Joseph of Fort Myers, FL; Lois Shroyer of Connersville, PA; Doris Loncharich of Scottdale, PA and Joyce Shroyer of Connellsville, PA; brothers, Oliver (Dale) Workman of Scottsdale, AZ and Glenn “Bunner” and his wife, Dolores of Cordova, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Oliver Workman; her son, Bill and her sisters, Elsie Brady, Phyllis Burke, Emma Jean Miner and Grace Vargo and her brothers, James Workman and Robert Workman.

Family and friends will be received in the Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, Inc. 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby, Ohio from 12 noon Friday until the hour of the funeral service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Larry Pozza officiating.

Committal service and interment will be held at the Mausoleum in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township, Ohio.
