Services for Betty M. (Mitchell) Long, 86, of Mentor, will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Rev. Paul Sartarelli of Trinity Church in Mentor will officiate at the service.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Long passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Hospice House in Cleveland.

Born September 26, 1931 in Rice’s Landing, PA, she has lived in Mentor for the past 45 years.

Mrs. Long was employed as a calibrator at the former Baily Meter Company in Wickliffe for 30 years.

Survivors are her children, Ruthie Jo (Ronald) Shields, Glenn Long, Janette (Terry) Taylor and Janie (Mark) Watts; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and brothers, Robert (Nancy) Mitchell and Jerry (Dee) Mitchell. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, in 1976. Her parents, Jess and Josephine (Shepler) Mitchell and brother, Paul Mitchell are also deceased.

Final resting place will be in Knollwood Cemetery following the service on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to Hospice of the Western Reserve, Inc., 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44110-2602.
