Blanche Smith

Memorial services for Blanche (Elrod) Smith, 77, of Willoughby Hills, will be at 12 Noon on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Victory Lane Assembly of God, 7550 Bellflower Road, Mentor. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church.

Mrs. Smith passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Mentor-Way Care Center.

Born April 19, 1935 in Lavonia, GA, she has lived in Willoughby Hills for the past 48 years.
She was a member of Willoughby Assembly of God (Hope Church), where she served as a missionette leader and Sunday school teacher. She was an avid gardener, loved to fish and study her bible and was also a multi-talented lady; she could accomplish anything she set her mind to do.
A homemaker, Mrs. Smith was employed for a short time as an inspector and model at the former Dalton Industries in Willoughby.
Mrs. Smith was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and confidant. Her wisdom was God sent. After her children were grown, she attended the Lake County flea market where she bought and sold antiques and collectibles.
Survivors are her daughters, Deborah (Steve, Sr.) Johnson of Mentor, Pamela Tenkku of Fairport Harbor, Paula (Steve) Budzicki and Angela Smith, both of Willoughby Hills; grandchildren, Michael Tenkku, Angela (Chris Childs) Suchetka, Steve (Gina Karres) Johnson, Jr., Adam (Charlotte) Johnson, Jennifer (Christopher) Brink, Paul Johnson, Jessica (Jason) McKinney, Bridgette (Tim O’Neill) Budzicki, Dale Budzicki, Amelita (Phillip McCamon) Budzicki and John Smith; 18 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and sisters, Collis Carter and Mary (Alvin) Jarret.

Her husband of 60 years, Dale M. Smith, passed away February 28, 2013. Her granddaughter, Michelle Tenkku; parents, Clifton and Carrie (Welborn) Elrod and brothers, Max Elrod and Sam Elrod and sisters, Sarah Thompson and Betty Jo Elrod are also deceased.
