Brian Lee Dickey, age 63, of Chesterland, Ohio, passed away on June 11, 2025, after a two-year battle with leukemia.
Born on August 17, 1961 in Mentor, Ohio, Brian was very proud of his ancestral roots there and enjoyed researching his family history.
Brian was a graduate of Cleveland State University, where he earned his degree in mechanical engineering. He spent over 25 years as a dedicated project engineer at USNR.
Brian was an enthusiastic Cleveland sports fan. He enjoyed getting together with friends to watch or attend Guardians, Cavs and Browns games, including the Guardians home opener every year. He collected Cleveland sports bobbleheads and had an extensive collection on display in his home.
Other passions included riding his Harley Davidson. Brian enjoyed attending Rock and Country music concerts, many of them while visiting his friends and godchildren in Florida, where he vacationed multiple times each year. He was also a fan of the comic strip Peanuts, which carried over from childhood.
Brian was a strong, quiet soul who was loved by so many. His witty sense of humor, sports knowledge and caring companionship will be missed by his family, friends and co-workers.
He is survived by his siblings, Tish (Phil) Michel and Bob (Denine) Dickey; and nephews and niece, Justin (Jessie), Jake (HeeJin), Trevor, and Brianne (Andy), and great nieces and nephews Jayden, Jolie, Remy, Kaia and Milo. Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Pauline (Harris) Dickey.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby, where a celebration of his life will begin at 7 PM, following the visitation.
A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, June 20, 2025 in Section 1, in Mentor Cemetery, 6881 Hopkins Road, Mentor. Please meet directly at the cemetery.
