Carlyn L. Williams

Carlyn Lee Williams, 85, of Newbury, Ohio, went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 13, 2018. Carlyn grew up in York, Pennsylvania, where she studied voice at Peabody Institute, sang with the Spring Garden Band, and was crowned Miss York County in 1950. She married her high school sweetheart, Joseph Nelson Williams in 1952. They were married 65 years. Carlyn was a lifelong church choir member where she loved to sing and play the piano. She enjoyed playing competitive tennis and playing bridge. She was a devoted mother and wife who loved her family and friends. Carlyn is survived by her husband, three children - Jill McGinn (Terry), Julie Maney (Mark), and Joseph, Jr., along with her six grandchildren, a brother - Ronald, and numerous nieces and nephews. Carlyn's Celebration of Life was privately held in Bedford, Pennsylvania, where she was buried.
