Carol Dennis

Services and interment for Carol R. (Swain) Dennis, 74, of Mentor, a Licensed Practical Nurse, will be 11:30 AM Tuesday, August 28, 2012 in the Chapel at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, 11521 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. The Rev. Donald P. Beaumont of Bethel Lutheran Church will officiate at the service. Mrs. Dennis passed away Friday, August 24, 2012 at Hospice House in Cleveland. She was the beloved wife of 54 years of Robert J. Dennis; dear mother of Scott and his wife, Julie and grandchildren Casey and Laura. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families and her dear friend, Jane (Don) Albertone of Wickliffe. Born March 7, 1938 in Akron, she had lived in Willowick for 44 years, before moving to Mentor ten years ago. Carol enjoyed antiques and crafts of all kinds, especially crocheting, knitting and needlepoint. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Martha (Hoppe) Swain and sister, Elaine Ries. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to Hospice of the Western Reserve, Inc., 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44110-2602.
