Carol J. Horn

Mass of Christian Burial for Carol J. (Schaffer) Horn, 94, of Concord Twp., will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 7, 2023 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor.

Family will receive friends from 9:30- 10:00 AM Thursday, prior to the mass at the church.

Mrs. Horn passed away peacefully Sunday, December 3, 2023 with her family by her side.

Born August 5, 1929 in Cleveland, she lived in Mentor since 1974 before moving to Concord Twp. seven years ago.

Mrs. Horn enjoyed hosting her family and friends. She was very active with her friends in dance groups and she loved being with her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Woodworth; grandchildren, Jeremy (Koren) Woodworth and Alison (Brian) Joyce; great-grandchildren, Ella and Clare Joyce; nieces and nephew, MaryEllen Menefee, Kathy Schaffer, and Jeffery Schaffer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Horn; step-sons, Gregory Horn and Jeffery L. Horn and step-daughter, Susan Horn; brother, William Schaffer. Her parents, Clarence and Frances (Kozel) Schaffer are also deceased.

Final resting place will be in Mentor Cemetery following the mass.

Family suggests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Madison Food Center, 1954 Hubbard Rd., Madison, OH 44057 or to Gram’s Children’s Fund at Madison Public Library, 6111 Middle Ridge Rd., Madison, OH 44057.
