Carole Mae Pile

Carole Mae Pile, 83, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.

Carole was a 1958 graduate of Brush High School, Lyndhurst, Ohio. After attending Baldwin-Wallace for a year, she went to work for the Pile Family’s business, Hough Bakeries, Inc., which had been founded by her grandfather, Lionel A. Pile. Carole stayed at Hough for the next 32 years, working in the order department, as an accounting clerk, as secretary to her father, Kenneth, as a purchasing agent, and in the accounts payable department. After Hough Bakeries closed in 1992, Carole began her bookkeeping career with Pediatricenter of Greater Cleveland. Carole also worked part-time at Books by the Park at Parkside Church. She sang in the choir at the church and volunteered in their tape ministry.

Carole is survived by her sister, Dottie Pile Campbell; two nephews and their families: Bob & Jill (Nathan, Isaac, Lauren), Bill & Paula (Kaylee, Will); several cousins. Carole was preceded in death by grandparents Lionel and Katherine Pile and James and Nellie Crawford; her parents, Kenneth and Eleanor Pile; her brother-in-law, Mark Campbell; several aunts, uncles and cousins. She had a great love for all of her dogs throughout the years.

There will be a graveside service for Carole at Knollwood Cemetery, 1678 SOM Center Road, Mayfield Heights at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023 (Please meet at the front entrance). Rev. Bob Sandham will officiate the service.

Those attending the service are invited to a light lunch following the service at Alfredo’s at the Inn, inside the Holiday Inn, 780 Beta Drive, Mayfield Village, Ohio.
