Carolyn S. Duka

Services for Carolyn S. (Nida) Duka, 76, of Eastlake, will be at 11 AM on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Lakeland Baptist Temple, 34024 Roberts Road, Eastlake.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM on Thursday, prior to the service at the Church.

Mrs. Duka passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Hospice House in Cleveland.

Born December 6, 1948 in Painesville, she was a lifelong Lake County resident, living in Eastlake for more than 50 years.

She was a member of Lakeland Baptist Temple and an avid lottery player. She was very patriotic and attended events with her husband at the Marine Corps League Gunny’s Hall in Mentor.

She was previously employed as a hairdresser and worked at several different salons, and also worked at The Lake County Captains stadium during the inaugural year in 2003.

Survivors are her husband of 26 years, John Duka, Sr., children, Jacki (Tim) Duka and Sandi (Jon) Rice, grandchildren, Alison Duka, Jessica Duka, Kristin Grice and Jeffrey Healy; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Duka, Bentley Grice and Isabella Grice and her son-in-law, Mike Grice.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Grice on March 24, 2025. Her parents, Ralph and Dolores (Lanning) Nida are also deceased.

Final resting place will be in Mentor Cemetery following the service on Thursday.
