Charles E. “Chuckles” Barton

Memorial services for Charles E. “Chuckles” Barton, 66, of Mentor, will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Mentor United Methodist Church, 8600 Mentor Avenue, Mentor. The Rev. Kurt E. Landerholm will officiate at the service.

Mr. Barton passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at his home.

Born July 22, 1949 in Ashtabula, he was a longtime resident of Garrettsville before moving to Mentor 14 years ago.

He was an active member of Mentor United Methodist Church and the Lion’s Club.

Chuck spent many years performing as Chuckles the Clown. He enjoyed entertaining people with his magic and face painting.

Mr. Barton was employed at Progressive Insurance Company.

Survivors are his wife of 14 years, Kathy (nee: Dunzweiler) (Rhodes) Barton; son, Brett Barton; step-children, Chris (Eileen) Sliwinski, Stephanie (Brian) McCully, and Robert (Heidi) Rhodes; grandchildren, Teagan, Sarah, Megan and Victor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Geraldine Barton and stepson, Paul Sliwinski.
