Services for Charles Ernest Nimietz, age 84, will be Thursday, February 2. 2012 at 2 PM at the East Shore Church United Methodist, 23002 Lake Shore Blvd., Euclid. Mr. Nimietz passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 at Heather Hill Nursing Home in Munson Township after a long illness. He was born April 12, 1927 in Chicago to Charles Ernest and Sarah (McKay) Nimietz and moved to this area in the early 1950's. Mr. Nimietz was a sales representative for Apex Appraisal both on the road and locally. He was a 60-plus year member of Cleveland Lodge 781 F. & A.M. and served as Master of the lodge four separate times. His volunteer work including Boy Scout Master, Meals on Wheels delivery, Cleveland Society of the Blind, Friends of the Euclid Public Library and treasurer of the Euclid Citizens Police Academy. He volunteered delivering blood for the Red Cross to University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center. Surviving are his wife Germaine Nimietz, sister Peggy Oliver of Westlake, children Guy E. Nimietz of The Dalles, OR, Daniel (Karen) Nimietz of Burton, Carole (Bob) Melucci of San Diego, CA, and Linn (Jeff) Graw of San Diego, CA, and grandson Daniel (Jacqueline Cillain) Nimietz. Mr. Nimietz was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, 44110.
