Funeral service for Charles “Fred” Steel age 72, of Eastlake, will be 7:00 P.M. Friday, June 12, 2015 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby.
Mr. Steel passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015 in Cleveland, surrounded by his family.
He was born July 10, 1942 in Port Huron, Michigan.
U.S. Army Veteran.
Mr. Steel was a retired grounds maintenance supervisor at Lubrizol.
He was a volunteer at Holiday Camplands in Andover for many years, where he enjoyed his retirement. He enjoyed coaching youth football and baseball in Willoughby in the late 60s and 70s.
Survivors include his wife Donna (Piascik) of 26 years; children John (Barb) Steel, Cynthia (Keith) Henderson, and Megan (fiancé Frank McNamara); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Marge Coffield; brother Dave (Theresa) Steel; Parent-in-laws Leonard and Nancy Piascik; many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Mary Steel; sister Emma Napper.
Family will receive friends 3:00-7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
