Clara C. Merrill

Funeral services for Clara Merrill, 97, of Mentor, will be at 11 AM on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the funeral home.

Clara passed away peacefully on January 6, 2023 with her family by her side.

Born July 18, 1925 on a farm in Albion, PA, she has lived in Mentor for close to 70 years.

Clara left home at 17 years old to pursue her career as a beautician in Meadville, PA.

She met her husband, Bob, while doing his mom’s hair and they were happily married for over 50 years. Together, they adopted their children, Becky and Rod, to complete their family.

Clara loved the Lord and being an active member at Mentor Christian Church. She loved gardening and had a passion for dogs. Her dog, Blossom, got her through some very hard times after Bob passed away. She loved the outdoors, especially the sun and flowers. Clara was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.

She had so many friends and was a great listener.

Survivors include her children, Rod (Linda) Merrill and Becky (Greg) Morrissette and grandchildren, Jessica, Evan, and Matt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob and parents, Neil and Florence (Young) Craig and 4 siblings.

Final resting place will be in Knollwood Cemetery, Mayfield Heights.
