Mass of Christian Burial for Coletta K. (Chenock) Sandman, 64, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, will be at 11 AM on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Saint John Vianney Catholic Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. Please meet directly at the Church on Thursday.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
Coletta passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at her home.
Born June 11, 1960, in North Hollywood, CA, she has lived in Mentor-on-the-Lake for the past 27 years.
She was a member of Saint John Vianney Catholic Church in Mentor and loved to volunteer at their summer festival.
She also enjoyed watching Cleveland sports, American Idol, The Voice, and recently Survivor. When she wasn’t at home, she would often go to plays, festivals and shop in her golden Toyota she named “Betty” after Betty Boop.
You could also find her talking about her enthusiasm for The Wizard of Oz and Country Music, such as Brad Paisley or Billy Ray Cryus. Coletta also cherished spending time with her mom (Kathryn Chenock) and her daughter (Sara Sandman). She loved her two cats Lila and Charley, and missed her golden retriever Sammy.
Coletta was employed in accounts payable at The Cleveland Clinic for the past 27 years.
Survivors are her husband, Michael R. Sandman, whom she married on September 13, 1997; daughter, Sara Sandman (Will) and step-son, Michael Sandman (Shandra); brothers, Edward (Alice); Thomas (Annie) and Ronald Chenock and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Kathryn (Price) Chenock.
Final resting place will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Township, following the Mass on Thursday.
