Dale M. Smith

Memorial services for Dale M. Smith, 83, of Willoughby Hills, will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The family will receive friends one-half hour prior to the service.

Mr. Smith passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Mentor-Way Care Center.

Born January 20, 1930 in Pennsylvania, he has lived in Willoughby Hills for the past 48 years.

He was a United States Navy veteran and a member of the operating engineers union. He loved fishing and enjoyed working on cars.

Mr. Smith was employed as an operating engineer prior to his retirement.

Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Blanche (Elrod) Smith; daughters, Deborah (Steve, Sr.) Johnson of Mentor, Pamela Tenkku of Fairport Harbor, Paula (Steve) Budzicki and Angela Smith, both of Willoughby Hills; grandchildren, Michael Tenkku, Angela Suchetka, Steve Johnson, Jr., Adam (Charlotte) Johnson, Jennifer (Christopher) Brink, Paul Johnson, Jessica (Jason) McKinney, Bridgette Budzicki, Dale Budzicki, Amelita Budzicki and John Smith; 17 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

His granddaughter, Michelle Tenkku; parents, Claude and Miriam (Putt) Smith and sister, Donna Boulette are deceased.
