Daniel G. Eckart

Funeral services for Daniel George Eckart, 85, of Painesville Twp., will be 12 PM on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

The family will receive from friends 10 AM - 12 PM on Monday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Daniel passed away December 11, 2017 in Painesville Township.

Born January 20, 1932 in Painesville, he was a lifelong Lake County resident.

Daniel enjoyed fishing, camping, bicycling, flying kites, family vacations, and winter picnics on his birthday.
He enjoyed church camp reunions at Temple Grove, PA and singing in the Handel’s Messiah for 41 years.

Mr. Eckart retired as a quality control manager for Process Technology in Mentor. Prior to that he was employed at Lindsey Wire Weaving in Mentor for 25 years.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Barbara Lou Eckart; sons, Dayton Daniel (fiancée Kerry Shellenberger) Eckart and George Daniel (Melissa) Eckart; Sister, Joyce (William) Lawrence. He also leaves his niece, Danya (Tom) Pogozelski and nephew, Bob Stevens; great-nieces, Amber Pogozelski, Alison (Dave) Brownson and great-nephews, Wesley Brownson, Gregory and Sean Laing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Faye Eckart and also his niece, Cindee Lee Laing.

Final resting place will be in Mentor Cemetery, following the services.
