David O. Bak

A service to celebrate the life of David Oswald Bak, 60, of Kirtland, will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Old South Church, 9802 Chillicothe Road, Kirtland. A celebration of life will follow at the church.

The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 PM on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

David passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. He generously donated his organs, giving the gift of life to others in his passing.

Born March 27, 1963, in Cleveland, he has lived in Kirtland for the past 21 years.

David graduated from Kent State University with an Industrial and Mechanical Engineering degrees. David was employed as a construction manager for several area construction firms until he became a stay-at-home father and helped start a house rental business with his wife.

He enjoyed spending time with his children gardening, boating, and camping. He loved cooking for his family and will be remembered for making the best soups.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Wendy (Haverstraw) Bak; sons, Patrick and Daniel Bak and his brother, Gordon Bak (Goranka). He also leaves behind his 14 nieces and nephews, Cheryl, Melissa, Lauren, Ryan, Emily, Kirsten, Alexa, Nathaniel, Samantha, Nicholas, Kevin, Alyssa, Victoria and Joseph.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oswald and Anne (Heron) Bak.
