David A. Kaleal

Mass of Christian Burial for David A. Kaleal, 53, of Mentor, will be at 12 Noon on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Saint John Vianney Catholic Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. The Rev. Thomas W. Johns will officiate the Mass.

The family will receive friends from 2-6 PM on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

Dave passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 29, 2023.

Born in Euclid, he was a longtime Euclid resident before moving to Mentor 20 years ago.

He was an active member of Saint John Vianney Catholic Church. Dave was an Eagle Scout, class of 1985 and an adult volunteer with Boy Scout Troop 280 in Mentor and Willoughby Hills. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and working on jigsaw puzzles.

Dave was employed as an IT security engineer at Lakeland Community College for the past five years, and previously worked at John Carroll University for 26 years.

Survivors are his wife of 28 years, Susan (DiChiro); sons, Brian (fiancé, Faith) and Adam; mother, Mary Ann (Holowczak) Kaleal and brother, Jeff Kaleal.

He was preceded in death by his father, John A. Kaleal in 2020.

Private family burial will be at All Souls Cemetery.
