Donald Ray Speidel

Funeral services for Donald R. Speidel, Jr., 87, of Wickliffe, will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

The family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the funeral home.

Donald passed away September 10, 2017 in Olmsted Falls.

He was born September 29, 1929 in Cleveland and was a longtime Wickliffe resident.

He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Willoughby. He was also a member of East Gate Lodge #796 F. & A.M., Al Koran Shrine, Valley of Cleveland and the TCA, LCCA, TTOS and the Lake Shore Live Steamers.

Mr. Speidel worked for 46 years as a locomotive engineer for New York Central / Penn Central / CSX Railroad.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Phyllis A. (Williams) Speidel; daughters, Linda (Roy) Harris, Kathleen (Ralph) Hawkins and Melody (Laurence) Powali; grandchildren, Kevin, Shawn, Brett, Megan, Victoria, Richard, and Nathan; great-grandson, Tucker and sister, Sandra (Walter) Mapes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald, Sr. and Coral Speidel.

Final resting place will be in Whitehaven Memorial Park, Mayfield Village.
