A Celebration of Life for Donna Ray (Bailey) Detering, 72, of Willowick, will be at 5 PM on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
The family will receive friends from1-5 PM on Sunday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Social distancing protocols will be enforced and masks are required.
Donna passed away peacefully May 13, 2021, with her family by her side.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Donna worked for the Willoughby-Eastlake Schools.
She loved painting with Carol and making crafts. She was an avid reader, enjoyed her flowers and garden vegetables; was a bridge player and enjoyed puzzles. She swam at the YMCA for exercise. She enjoyed her two trips to Alaska, one being for their 50th Anniversary.
She was active in her Church on the Worship Committee and Deacon/Deaconess Chair. She is currently a member of the Community Christian Church in Painesville.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 51 years, Philip H. Detering; devoted mother of Sharon Detering and Bryan (Jennifer Manning) Detering; loving grandmother of Bailey, Oliver, and Bridget; 11 nieces and nephews and 20 great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara (Kreuz) and Delmar Bailey and siblings, Terry, Barbara and Polly.
