Doris K. Bixel

Services for Doris K. (Tawney) Bixel, 81, of Mentor, will be at 11 AM on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM on Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bixel passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013 at her home.

Born March 27, 1931 in Lyndhurst, she was a longtime Mentor resident.

She was an active member of her Christian community, loved to bake and give generously of her time to friends and family.

Mrs. Bixel was retired from Franz Medical in Mentor.

Survivors are her husband of 63 years, Virgil; brother, William (Ellie) Tawney of Austintown and god-daughter, Robin (William) Brower of Rock Creek and their son, William IV. She will be remembered as a dear friend and aunt to many.

Her parents, William and Helen Tawney are deceased.

The Rev. Philip J. Hilditch of Victory Baptist Church in Mentor will officiate at the service. Final resting place will be in Mentor Cemetery.
