Services for Dorothy Ann Bell, 67, of Mentor, will be at 10 AM on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
The family will receive friends from 8-10 AM on Thursday, at the funeral home, prior to the service.
Dot passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Tri-Point Medical Center in Concord Township.
Born March 15, 1948 in Cleveland, she was a longtime Lake County resident.
She was a member of Saint Bede the Venerable Catholic Church in Mentor, and enjoyed camping at Windrush Hollow in Huntsburg. She was an avid bowler, loved fishing, reading and sharing books with her friends. She also loved to crochet, paint, draw and craft. She enjoyed traveling with her companion and his family, having visited Slovenia, several of the National Parks and Alaska.
Dot worked as a prep and fry cook, towmotor operator, school bus driver and retired from Royal Plastics where she was an injection molding machine operator.
Survivors are her sons, Melvin Clovis Bell and Bernie Leo Bell; sister, Dolores “Dee” (Mark) Harkleroad and devoted nephew, Michael.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Sylvia Gmerek and her special companion/friend, Karl Sumer.
Final resting place will be in Mentor Cemetery, Section 29; Lot 5; Grave 8, following the service on Thursday.
The family would like to express thanks to the neighbors, friends and family for their kind support and prayers.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to Dolores “Dee” Harkleroad for the purchase of a blanket warmer for chemotherapy patients on the 8th Floor of the Crile Building at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
