Dorothy J. Mowrey

Memorial services for Dorothy J. (Nimmo) Mowrey, 94, of Mentor, will be at 11 AM on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Bible Community Church, 8600 Lakeshore Boulevard, Mentor. Pastors Denny Hoynes and Mike Goldfuss will officiate at the service.

Mrs. Mowrey passed away Monday, February 13, 2017 at Brookdale at Newell Creek in Mentor.

Born March 21, 1922 in Du Bois, PA, she had lived in Willowick for 31 years before moving to Mentor 27 years ago.

She was a member of Bible Community Church and the former Emmaus Bible Fellowship in Mentor.

Mrs. Mowrey was employed as an accounting analyst at the former Bailey Controls Company in Wickliffe for 15 years, retiring in 1984.

Survivors are her son-in-law, James Walker; grandchildren, Laura (Nick) Marino, Eric (Leah) Walker and Bryan (Jennifer) Walker; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Joseph, Abby, Emily, Jacob, Joshua, Zoe, Jonathan, Melody and Jacob and sister, Evelyn Skully. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Mowrey on May 18, 1976 and her daughter, Carol Walker on April 13, 2007. Her parents, Robert and Bertha (Brown) Nimmo, sister, Ruth Moore and brothers, Harold, Clifford, Robert and Walter Nimmo are also deceased.

There will be no calling hours. Private family interment will be held.
