Duane L. “Doc” Duncan, 72, of Micco, FL passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 surrounded by his family.
Mr. Duncan was born on December 7, 1948 in Cleveland, he was the son of the late George Jr. and Almyra (Dion) Duncan. Duane lived in Willoughby until moving to Florida 17 years ago.
Mr. Duncan retired as a police officer from the Willowick Police Department after 26 years of service. He also was a Volunteer Manager with the Vero Beach Chapter of the Red Cross from 2006-2009.
He graduated from Eastlake North High School in 1966. He served in the U.S. Navy from January 1968 to November 1971. During his service he spent most of his time in Germany and Cyprus.
Mr. Duncan enjoyed life to the fullest through his many hobbies including reading, sailing, scuba diving, amateur ham radio, flying his airplane, riding his motorcycle, playing his guitars and traveling/camping.
He is survived by his significant other, Cricket Crum; his children, Alan Duncan and Jennifer Duncan Santana; granddaughter, Caya Santana; sisters, Charlene Keshe, Denise Duncan, and Anita (George) Baker; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Duane also leaves behind his beloved Macaw, Dixie.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby, OH.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Mentor Cemetery, 6881 Hopkins Road, Mentor. Please meet at Section 16, at the North end of the cemetery.
The family suggests contributions in Duane’s memory to American Cancer Society.
