Graveside services for Edna Ruth (Bedford) Martin, 95, of Eastlake, will be at 11 AM on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, 11521 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township.
Mrs. Martin passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022.
Born September 14, 1926 in Montrose, WV, she lived in Eastlake for the past 64 years.
She was a member of the Galilee White Shrine #41 where she served as Worthy High Priestess in 1976. She enjoyed gardening, reading, writing poetry, telling great stories, sewing, upholstering and spending time with family. You also never left her house hungry.
Mrs. Martin retired from King Musical Instruments in Eastlake, where she assembled parts for brass instruments. She also had many other jobs throughout her life, including as a chef, candy-maker and sales associate in a women’s clothing store, just to name a few.
Survivors are her daughters-in-law, Joanne Martin and Judy Martin; grandchildren, Laura Krieger, Stuart (Teresa) Martin, III, Joseph Martin, Jr., Margie Owens, Jennifer Novak; Kathy Kluchar; several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren; sister, Yvonne Cross, in West Virginia; many nieces and nephews and their families and special neighbor and long-time friend Angie Chaplin.
She was preceded in death by her husband and best friend of 68 years, Stuart Martin, Sr. in 2012; her sons, Stuart Martin, Jr. in 2004 and Joseph Martin, Sr. in 2013; grandson, Ralph Kluchar; granddaughter, Karen Holub; her parents, Joseph and Ethel (Gainor) Bedford and many siblings.
