Edward G. Hodina, 92, of Willoughby, passed away peacefully December 1, 2022. He was born April 24, 1930 in Cleveland. After growing up in South Euclid, he spent the remainder of his time in Lake County.
Edward was an Electrical Engineer and proud U.S. Marine Corp. Korean War Veteran. He was a 1948 graduate of Brush High School and a 1957 graduate of Fenn College of Engineering.
Edward was a longtime Boy Scout leader in Willoughby. Ed loved making things better and developing people. This found expression in his mentoring of younger engineers and technicians and in the many boys that passed through his scout troop. In his retirement he enjoyed his hobbies of photography and watercolor painting. He loved serving in voluntary positions at Ohio Living Breckenridge Village.
Survivors include his children, Kenneth (Wendy) Hodina, Kevin (Liisa) Hodina, and Mary Hodina; grandchildren, Eric (Natalie) Hodina, Phoebe (David Wright) Hodina, Alec Hodina, and Caitlyn Coyne and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Sheila (Ackroyd) Hodina on February 2, 2011; parents, Edward A. and Barbara (Hudec) Hodina and his brother, Richard Hodina.
Family suggests contributions be made to Ohio Living Breckenridge Village Life Care Fund, 36851 Ridge Rd., Willoughby, OH 44094.
