Eileen Szarka

Services for Eileen (Barnes) Szarka , 97, of Willowick, will be at 10 AM on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

The family will receive friends from 4-7:30 PM on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the funeral home.

In respect to those who gather, the use of masks will be required and social distancing will be encouraged while visiting the funeral home. Our occupancy limit is 40 people at a time, so you may encounter a wait to enter the building.

Mrs. Szarka passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at her home.

Born August 4, 1923 in Cleveland, she has lived in Willowick for the past 57 years

She was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Willoughby Chapter 202.

Mrs. Szarka was employed as a cafeteria aide in the Willoughby-Eastlake School System, mostly at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School in Eastlake.

Survivors are her children, Mary (David) Dula, George Szarka, Jr. and Michael Szarka; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Szarka, Sr. and her daughter, Eileen Marie Smith. Her parents, William and Carolyn (Flassgarten) Barnes are also deceased.

Final resting place will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Mayfield Heights.
