Elaine Ann Gasber

Elaine Ann Gasber, 88, of Mentor, passed away peacefully, January 26, 2021. She was surrounded in her home of 57 years with the love of family and friends. She was born in Wheeling WV on March 31, 1932.

Elaine was a retiree of Lubrizol in Wickliffe, a secretarially job she enjoyed. Her many joys in life included church, sewing, crocheting, gardening, reading, shopping (Always finding a bargain or had a coupon!), cooking and baking. She was especially known for her fabulous Thanksgiving pies and Christmas cookies! She enjoyed spending time with family and friends but the loves of her life were her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her zest of life, giving of herself and her feisty nature.

She is survived by her children, Matthew (Nancy) Gasber of Madison, Ronald Gasber of Mentor and Joy (Darryl) Lory of Painesville Township; Grandchildren, Andrew Gasber, Alexander and Annmarie Lory; Sisters, Phyliss Goodwin and Nancy McClain; Sister-in-law, Beverly Goff; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Vessels and Bernice Honecker Mott; sister Karen Sue Plageman; ex-husband Alvin Gasber; In-laws Albert and Velma Gasber.

A private church ceremony will be held for the family. A Celebration of Life will be held when all can gather safely.
