Eleanor Ann Wendling, 83, of Willoughby Hills, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, at Chardon Health Care Center. She was born on November 28, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Sherwood and Eleanor Parsons.
Known to most as “Annie,” she graduated from Kirtland High School in 1960 and went on to complete the Executive Secretarial Course Program at Dyke College.
Ann was a lifelong resident of Willoughby Hills. She was married to William Wendling, and together they welcomed their daughter, Dawn.
Ann had a big personality and a larger-than-life presence. She earned her real estate license and enjoyed a lifelong career in selling condominiums. She was also known to many as the “Avon Lady,” working part-time as a successful Avon representative. Her outgoing nature, quick wit, and ability to make people feel special made her memorable to so many throughout the years.
One of Ann’s favorite expressions became a signature way of saying goodbye. Whether she was talking to a client, family member, or friend, she would often end with her playful, familiar words: “Who loves you, baby?” It was unmistakably Ann—and a phrase that those who knew her will always remember with a smile.
Ann will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Dawn Eleanor Demaria; her sister, Patricia Gill Rackovan; and her grandchildren, Danielle (Dan) Angie, Salvatore Pasquale Demaria, Kathryn Eleanor Demaria, Anthony Gill Demaria, and Lily Ann Demaria.
She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Hazel Eleanor Demaria, Amelia Rae Murphy, Salvatore Michael Angie, Michelin Rose Angie, and Lucio Joseph Angie.
Ann was blessed to have the continued love, friendship, and support of Gus, Dawn’s former husband, as well as Cheryl and John Parsons, all of whom remained a close and caring part of her life. They were always there to lend a hand around the house, provide transportation, and assist Ann whenever she needed help. Their kindness, reliability, and devotion meant so much to Ann and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherwood and Eleanor Parsons; and her brothers, Palmer Parsons and Sherwood Parsons.
Ann will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her. Her vibrant personality will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
