Services for Ellie (Galanis) Tsironis, 82, of Highland Heights, will be at 11 AM on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Thursday, July 10 and from 10-11 AM on Friday, July 11, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tsironis went on to be with the Lord on Monday, June 23, 2025.
She was born on November 6, 1942 in the small village of Velisotes, in Northern Greece, moving to Farsala, Greece, five years later, during the Civil War in 1947.
Her maternal grandfather, Kostas Apostolopoulos was a Greek Orthodox Priest. Her parents, Elias and Katherine Galanis owned the Neighborhood Groceries Store in Fasala. Ellie worked at the Groceries Store, later taking ownership for five years, from 1974-1979, after her father died.
On July 5, 1981, she married Gregory John Tsironis, and together, they moved to America. On July 5, they would have celebrated 45 years of marriage.
She is survived by her husband, Gregory John; her brother, Milton (Angela) Galanis; nieces, Katherine and Helen; first cousins, Milton (Gioula) Galanis and Stella (John) Kordaras.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Final resting place will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery , near Seville, Ohio.
