Eugene E. Roth

Private family services have been held for Eugene E. Roth, 90, of Willoughby.

Mr. Roth passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, December 26, 2022 at his home.

Born April 24, 1932 in Cleveland, he was a lifelong Willoughby resident.

Ever since he was a boy, all he wanted was to join the Army. On his 17th birthday, his mother went with him to the recruiting office to sign his enlistment papers. While serving in the Army during both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, he earned both a Bronze Star and Purple Heart, with valor.

He loved the outdoors and especially his motorcycles, taking many cross country trips with his wife Joan.

He is survived by his wife, Joan (Plesnicher; sons, Michael and Eugene and sister, Grace Slaby and brother, Mel Van Horn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Doris (Bidelingmayer) Roth. His brother, Graydon Roth and sister, Annette Black are also deceased.
