Evelyn Dougherty

Services for Evelyn (Johnson) Dougherty, 85, of Mentor, will be at 5 PM on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM on Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dougherty passed away Friday, June 17, 2022.

Born June 10, 1937 in Erie, PA, she has lived in Mentor for the past 54 years.

She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Mentor.

Mrs. Dougherty was employed as a machinist at several local companies before her retirement.

Survivors are her children, Dale Rose Moore, Gale Amber Porter, Robin Gay Messinger, Ronald Earl (Joy) Messinger and Mark Emmett (Sandi) Messinger; grandchildren, Adolphus Moore, III, Dominick Moore, Felicia Moore, Alonzo Moore, John Porter, Bryan Porter, Elizabeth Porter, Shawna Reilly, Joshua Messinger and Mikayla Messinger; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Dougherty in 2017. Her parents, Harry and Genevieve (Rychel) Johnson are also deceased.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Madison Memorial Cemetery on Arcola Road.
