Services for Everett Eggers, 87, of Mentor, will be at 10 AM on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
Mr. Eggers passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Born November 19, 1926 in Greenup, KY he has lived Lake County more than 60 years.
Everett was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He was a Champion Trap and Skeet shooter and belonged to the Chase Brass Rod and Gun Club and Weslaco Sportsman Club among many others.
He was retired from former Chase Brass and Copper Company where he worked for 33 years.
Survivors are his wife of 55 years Iris (Ely) Eggers; children, Linda, Sandra, Randy, Thomas, Debra, Theresa; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Lois Gay and Syble Mae.
He was preceded in death by his son Kenneth; his parents, David and Garnett (Webb) Eggers; his brother, Frank and his sister, Bonnie.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Friday, September 5, 2014 at the funeral home. Final resting place will be in Mentor Cemetery following the service on Saturday.
