Frances Nadine Whitfield

Services for Frances Nadine (Bennett) Whitfield, 79, of Mentor, will be at 1 PM on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Rev. Beth Wilterdink of Hope Ridge United Methodist Church will officiate at the service.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM until 1 PM on Wednesday, prior to the service.

Mrs. Whitfield passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Manor Care Health Services in Willoughby.

Born March 23, 1936 in Pelham, TN, she has lived in Mentor-on-the-Lake and Mentor for the past 53 years.

She loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and working in her yard.

Mrs. Whitfield was employed at the former Uncle Bill’s/Hills/Ames Department Store in Mentor.

Survivors are her husband of 59 years, Thomas; children, Dave (Roxane) Whitfield of Madison, Jeff Whitfield of Mentor, Barbara Whitfield of Mentor and Robert Whitfield of Flower Mound, TX; grandchildren, Jeffery (Jamie); David, Lacey, Emily, Andrea and Ryan; four great-grandchildren; brothers, David, Clyde and Bill and sister, Reba Jo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Almagene (Goodman) Bennett and daughter-in-law, Kendra Whitfield.

Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township.
