Services for Frank Kastl. Jr., 81, of Eastlake, will be at 7 PM on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Rev. Joseph O’Donnell of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church will officiate at the service.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Mr. Kastl passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 surrounded by his family.
Born November 19, 1936 in Cleveland, he has lived in Eastlake for the past 51 years.
He was a United States Army veteran, serving from 14 June 1960 until his honorable discharge on 25 May 1962. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 38 and enjoyed many years as an assistant scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 287 in Eastlake. He also served several years as deputy sheriff for Lake County.
Mr. Kastl was employed as an electrician at the former Motch-Merryweather Corporation in Euclid.
Survivors are his children, James R. (Julie) Kastl, Kevin M. (Amy) Kastl, Robert C. (Katie) Kastl and Laurie E. (Joe) Vannatter; grandchildren, Sophia, Joseph, Ashlie, Kylie, Amanda, Anthony, Jesse, Aaron, Kayla and Mariah; great-grandchildren, Ayden, Eliana and Kaiden and sister, Connie (Bob) Briggs. He also leaves his former wife, Josephine A. Kastl.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Saundra Marie; his parents, Frank Sr. and May (Waddell) Kastl and sister, Delores Jones.
Private family interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
