Fred R Schwartz

Services for Fred R. Schwartz, 95, of Wickliffe, will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at the funeral home.

Mr. Schwartz passed away July 30, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born February 13, 1931 in Cleveland, he has lived in Wickliffe for the past 60 years.

Fred was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a Korean War Veteran. He was employed by the State of Ohio for many years and was an active member of the former Reformation Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eastlake. He loved gardening and taking one tank trips with the love of his life, Ruth. He loved being with his family.

Survivors include his children, Fred (Debby) Schwartz Jr., Melissa (Joseph) Piscitello, Robin Schwartz, and Tracy (Michael) Schwartz; grandchildren, Michael Schwartz, Stephanie Saviano, Noelle (Jordan) Piscitello-Oliver, Sofia and Ava Piscitello, Kara Rose (Michael) Martin, and Michael (Abby) Scardelletti. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Ruth V. (Werman) Schwartz and his sister, Shirley Gehring. His parents, Fred and Selma (Hill) Schwartz are also deceased.

Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Twp.
